New York Minute's trademark is versatility. From classic rock to R & B, blues, oldies, and popular music, shows are full of energy, strong harmonies superior musicianship and most of all FUN.

Band members are veteran performers of over 35 years. Billy Mitchell, (vocals, guitar, harp) and Pat Smith (vocals, rhythm) sang with the a cappella group, The Hudsons: Andy Webb (vocal, bass) and John Brough (drums, percussion) are veterans of the RI music scene.  Recent additions included Donn (Doc) Watson (piano, keys) and Curtis Eaton (lead guitar)....both of whom have played with numerous band throughout the years as well.

Since 1995, the band has played venues like The Narragansett Cafe in Jamestown, Knickerbocker Cafe in Westerly, Ocean Mist in Matunuck, Windjammer in Misquamicut, Dan's Place in West Greenwich, Bovi's in East Providence, The Harbourside in East Greenwich, The Narragansett Towers, Perry's/Okie's, and The Oak Hill Tavern in South County, Christie's in Newport, Dick's Last Resort in Boston, even The House of Blues on Sunset Strip in L.A.

NYM has also been booked annually for the RI Summer Concert Series, commercials and many private parties & special events.

Why New York Minute? The guys have day jobs: Mitchell’s background is in advertising, Smith’s in sales, Webb's a copywriter, Brough is a CPA.
  • Past members - Ken Sheehan (NRBQ), Guitar / Vocals; Dave Furlong (Three Legged Horse), Guitar / Vocals; Sam Holtzman,, sax & John Lombardi, sax.
  • Regular guest members - Joe Marion, sax; Dan Reynolds, sax, Joe Martins, sax.
 All agree if they could do music full time and live in the manner in which they're accustomed, they’d do it in a New York Minute.

NYM has released three CDs - LIVE AT THE NARRAGANSETT CAFE, ONLY TIME FOR ONE TAKE and GUMBO BEACH.
